Commissioner notifies new flour prices

KARACHI: The office of Karachi commissioner has said that prices of various varieties of flour have decre­ased, not increased. It said the ex-mill, wholesale and retail prices of Flour No 2.5 have been fixed at Rs 87 per kg, Rs 90 and Rs 94 per kg. The ex-mill, wholesale and retail rates of fine flour have been fixed at Rs 92, Rs 95 and Rs 99 per kg while the new rates of retail chakki flour is Rs 115 per kg. On June 5, the commissioner had announced the ex-mill, wholesale and retail prices of Flour No 2.5 at Rs 88 per kg, Rs 91 and Rs 95 per kg. The official ex-mill, wholesale and retail rates of fine flour were Rs 92, Rs 95 and Rs 100 per kg while the new rates of retail chakki flour was Rs 115 per kg. In Dawn’s December 18 edition, it was erroneously mentioned in a story that the commissioner raised price of a flour variety by Rs4. The error is regretted.
