MOHMAND: The district police authorities have issued notices to 44 police officials for using TikTok and social media platforms. The officials who were issued notices included six DSPs, six ASIs and other personnel for having registered accounts on different social media networks. District Police Officer Osama Amin Cheema said that the said police personnel were active on TikTok and other social media networks, which was disrupting their professional duties. He said that the use of social media networks by police personnel was a violation of Media Policy 2021. The DPO said that it should be noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan had imposed a complete ban on the use of social media networks by police personnel and a formal notification had also been issued to this effect.
