CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao stated that the PTI-led government had presented a wrong impression of the Pakhtun nation to the world, alleging that the province’s resources were being spent on protests and unauthorised activities. Addressing a meeting of party workers in Katuzai, Shabqaddar tehsil, Sikandar Sherpao said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing economic distress, with the security situation worsening each day, while both the provincial and federal governments had turned a blind eye to the situation. Regarding the situation in Kurram district, the QWP leader said that more than six lakh people had been trapped in the tribal district, adding that they were suffering severe hardships due to a lack of essential food and medicines. However, he stated that the priority of both the central and provincial governments was focused on political point-scoring rather than serving the people. Sikandar Khan Sherpao suggested that both the central and provincial governments should focus on public issues instead of levelling allegations against each other. A man allegedly shot dead his wife over a petty domestic dispute in the Darb Majuki area, within the jurisdiction of Prang police station. Obaidullah, a resident of the Khal area in Upper Dir district, reported to the police that his mother had been shot and killed by his father, Mukhtiar, in their house over a petty dispute.The police registered a case against the accused, Mukhtiar, and started an investigation.
