App launched to trace lost, stolen mobile phones

ABBOTTABAD: The police in collaboration with Comsats University, Abbottabad campus, have launched an app to trace lost and stolen mobile phones. In the app called e-devise-CR, users and mobile phone dealers will enter EMI numbers at the time of purchase and sale, and all the record will be available to the police headquarters, which would help in tracing the lost or stolen mobile phones. District police officer Umar Tufail inaugurated the app during a function held at Comsats University during the Science Expo 2024. The app developers gave a briefing to the participants. DPO Tufail emphasised the utility and maximum use of the app to help citizens trace their valuable lost and stolen phones. He presented certificates of appreciation to the developer students. ANTI-ENCROACHMENT DRIVE: The police along with cantonment board officials conducted an anti-encroachment operation from Mandian College Chowk to Complex INOR Gate on the main Mansehra Road here on Friday. During the operation, pushcarts selling fruits and vegetables were removed. Encroachments were also removed from Nawaz State Chowk, Awan and Shafiq Plaza, Ayub Medical College, Ayub Medical Complex and INOR Hospital. MEETING: The polio control and prevention committee on Friday reviewed arrangements for the upcoming five-day anti-polio campaign starting from December 16. The committee meeting was chaired by deputy commissioner Captain retired Sanaullah Khan. The deputy commissioner emphasised the need for achieving the vaccination target both in urban and rural areas.
