Bilal, Ahmed pair cruise into second round

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan players Bilal Asim and Ahmed Nael defeated the Thai duo of Patham Lacskulporn and Ariyaphol Leekul in the first-round match of the ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championship Leg-2 here at the PTF Complex on Tuesday. Bilal and Ahmed, who won the first leg of the championship, outplayed their opponents 6-2, 6-2 to move into the second round. Haider Ali Rizwan and Abu Bakar Talha, another Pakistan pair, defeated Koreans Sion and Yeomu Jung 6-4, 7-5 (10-5) in their boys’ doubles first-round clash. Ahtesham Humayun partnering Hamza Roman outclassed the Sri Lankan pair of Abdul Basith and Methika 6-1, 6-2 to reach the second round. Besides boys’ doubles, matches of girls’ doubles, boys’ and girls’ singles were also held during the day.
