NAWABSHAH: In a second incident of derailment in Sindh within the last four days, the locomotive and two bogies of a goods train jumped off the tracks on Sunday, this time at the Nawabshah railway station. Only on Thursday last, the locomotive and one bogie of the Shalimar Express train derailed near Allah Dino Sand village in Matiari district causing panic among passengers and suspension of their journey for about five hours. In the fresh incident, the locomotive and two bogies of a goods train derailed along the loop line at Nawabshah station but caused no disruption in the rail traffic. The goods train was heading to Karachi from Punjab and met with the accident when its driver shifted the loop line to let a passenger train pass by. Technical teams were called in for repair and rehabilitation work. Local railway officials said no major damage to the bogies or tracks was caused in the mishap.
