Man, toddler son suffocated to death in Ahmedpur East

BAHAWALPUR: A man his toddler son were suffocated to death on Tuesday, while his wife and a relative fell unconscious due to emissions from a generator in a house at Adda Bohar at Ali Kharak village near Ahmedpur East. As per Rescue 1122 officials, during a wedding, a couple, their two-year-old son and a relative were asleep in a room of a house, where a power generator was running. Because of the emissions caused by the generator, the husband, Amir (24) and his toddler son Imran died due to excessively inhaling poisonous emissions from the generator, while his wife Sonia and a relative Akram fell unconscious, they said. The rescuers shifted the bodies and unconscious persons to Ahmedpur East Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Two women were allegedly raped in separate incidents occurring in the limits of New Multan and Seatle Mari police stations on Tuesday.registered two rape separate cases including gang rape case, on the complaint of one Nasim Bibi and Sumera Bibi respectively today. According to New Multan police sources, a woman, ‘N’, a resident of Usman Ghani Chowk, stated that a suspect, ‘R’ lured her to a house on the pretext of getting her name included in the list of beneficiaries of BISP scheme. She alleged that when she went there, the suspect subjected her to rape and fled away. The police registered a case against the suspect who was yet to be arrested. In the second incident, a woman, Saba Bibi, filed a complaint with Seatle Mari police, saying her sister went to meet her friend at Rajapur, where three unidentified men allegedly gang-raped her and fled away. The police, after registering a rape case against the three unidentified men, raided the house of the victim’s friend, but none of the accused could be arrested. Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rai Babar Saeed, while chairing the departmental promotion committee (DPC) meeting on Tuesday promoted 78 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) to the rank of sub-inspector (SI) on the basis of seniority and eligibility. The ASIs who were promoted were posted in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan districts. The DPOs of the three districts of Bahawalpur range were also members of the DPC.
