Suspect wanted in three cases foils arrest bid, injures ASI

TOBA TEK SINGH: A suspect wanted in three cases shot at and injured an assistant sub inspector when he raided his house to arrest him at Chak 289 JB on Tuesday. According to a police spokesperson, Zahid Javed was addicted to ice heroin and was known for frequently firing shots in the village. He had previously expelled his wife, children, and father from his home after subjecting them to torture. In a recent case, he also attacked his brother, his brother’s wife, and their children, who live nearby. The spokesperson stated that when the policeman arrived at Javed’s residence to arrest him, he opened fire directly at the official. As a result, a bullet struck ASI Muhammad Nasir Bajwa in the chest. The injured officer was initially taken to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital but was later referred to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital for further treatment. The accused managed to flee the scene. Meanwhile, Faisalabad Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan has taken serious notice of the incident. He suspended Toba Saddar Station House Officer Muhammad Akram for allowing the injured ASI to conduct the raid without following proper safety protocols. The RPO said the ASI should have worn a bulletproof jacket during the raid. ARRESTED: Dijkot police (Faisalabad) claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a youth for allegedly raping and killing a 13-year-old egg seller who had gone missing on Saturday night and his body was recovered on Sunday morning. Faisalabad CPO Kamran Adil had constituted a team headed by SSP operations Malik Tariq Mahmood who met with parents of the deceased after the arrest and assured them of providing justice. Sources said the DNA test of the arrested suspect would be conducted in Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory, Lahore. CYLINDER BLAST: A youth identified as Suhail Naveed (16) received serious burn injuries when an LPG cylinder exploded during decanting at a shop on Tuesday in locality of Khayaban-i-Green located on Satiana Road, Faisalabad. Another man identified as Shahroz Rafiq (20) fainted when he inhaled gas after the blast. Both had been shifted to DHQ hospital. Also at Ghalib City of Madina Town area, a fire broke out in a house due to gas blast occurred in the kitchen because of leakage. Loss of more than Rs1 million was estimated as furniture and other valuables were gutted by fire. RAPE: A girl was raped in Naqshbandi Town in Ghulam Muhammadabad area of Faisalabad on Tuesday. Complainant ‘Fa’ claimed in his FIR registered under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code by Ghulam Muhammadabad police that his sister was returning home from bazaar when the suspect overpowered her outside his house and took her inside the house and raped her. Police spokesperson claimed to have arrested the suspect.
