UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for restraint following today’s attack in Beirut, reports. “We are, of course, very concerned about the heightened escalation… including the deadly strikes we saw in Beirut today,” said Stephane Dujarric, the UN chief’s spokesman. “We urge all parties to de-escalate immediately. All must exercise maximum restraint,” Dujarric said. “The region is on the brink of a catastrophe.”
