KARACHI: Two suspected drug peddlers were shot dead and a policeman was wounded in an alleged encounter in Pak Colony on Tuesday. DIG-South Syed Asad Raza said that the encounter took place in Old Golimar near Benazir Park. He said that armed suspects opened fire on police who returned fire, killing two suspects. He said that a third suspect was arrested in a wounded condition. A policeman, Sajjad, was also wounded, he said and added that the killed suspects were ‘wanted’ narcotics dealers. They were identified as Anwar Ahmed and Zamir Mir while the wounded as Shahid alias Dada. There were at least 10 FIRs registered against both killed suspects, the officer added. The police claimed to have recovered three pistols with rounds, two hand grenades, 10kg hashish, Ice, 20 cell phones and three motorcycles from their custody.
