KARACHI: The cold wave turned a bit intense late Sunday night as the mercury dropped to 7.9 degrees Celsius in parts of the city under the influence of a . The Met department’s data released on Monday showed that while the city’s average minimum temperature recorded was 9°C, mercury dropped to 7.9°C at the Airport area, followed by 10.4°C in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, 11°C in Mauripur, 11.3°C in Bin Qasim and 11.5°C on Sharea Faisal. The maximum temperature recorded was 26.5°C. Humidity levels were 63 per cent and 13pc in the morning and evening, respectively. The minimum temperature is expected to range between 7°C to 9°C on Tuesday night. According to the department’s daily advisory, cold/very cold and dry weather is likely to continue in the province with fog in the districts of upper and central Sindh during night/morning. The lowest temperature recorded in Mithi, Sukkur and Mohenjo Daro was 4°C.
