BAJAUR: Body of a missing boy was found from a mountain in Kamangra area of Nawagai tehsil here on Sunday. Local residents and police said that Maaz Khan, 9, had gone missing from his home in Adam Khan Kallay village on Saturday evening. His body was later found on a nearby mountain by locals and police officials on Sunday morning. The body, which bore torture marks, was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Nawagai, for postmortem. Noor Zali Khan, the boy’s father, told the police that his family had no enmity with anyone in the region. He demanded of the police to trace the people involved in the brutal killing of his son. The police said that a team led by Nawagai police station SHO had been formed to trace the culprits. PROTEST: Students of a government girls primary school in Arang area of Utmankhel tehsil protested against the shortage of teachers the other day. The students chanted slogans against the education department and the local lawmakers. They claimed there were only two posts of teachers in the school where currently over 400 students were enrolled. However, they complained that one teacher had been absent for last seven months, badly affecting their learning. The students accused the local education department officials of not paying any attention to their demand. The students also lashed out at the local lawmakers for overlooking the issue, and demanded of the provincial government to appoint at least two new teachers to the school without delay. MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: Jamaat-i-Islami provincial deputy chief Inayatullah Khan on Sunday called upon the people of Bajaur to join the party for their ‘bright and peaceful’ future. Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the launch of party’s membership campaign in Sadiqabad town of Khar tehsil, he claimed JI was struggling for implementation of Sharia in the country, according to a statement. JI district emir Sahibzada Haroon Rasheed and other activists were also in attendance. Inayatullah asked the people, especially youth, to join JI to make the country truly an Islamic welfare state.
