DOKRI HOSPITAL: The people of Dokri in Larkana district are suffering because the Civil District Hospital (CDH) lacks adequate number of ambulances to timely transport patients to the hospital, leaving them in a precarious situation. Additionally, the number of beds in the hospital is insufficient. The hospital management fails to provide even first aid to the patients. The authorities concerned should resolve these issues as soon as possible, and provide basic healthcare facilities to the people. People had placed high hopes in local government elections due to the presence of a large number of young candidates. However, the government has failed to give full powers to those elected. These young representatives should be given required administrative powers so they may develop as well as maintain the infrastructure in their respective areas, and be able to solve people’s problems effectiely. In developed countries, local governments possess significant authority and resources, enabling them to effectively address the needs of their commu- nities and manage public services. Unfor- tunately, that is not the case in our country. Transportation facilities available to the students of the University of Karachi are far from being satisfactory. The university’s point buses are often overcrowded, leaving many students with no option, but to stand during the commute. By the time they reach their classes, they are usually tired and exhausted. Besides, it is alarming that some students have to literally hang on to the doors. This is a serious safety risk. This overcrowding not only creates an uncomfortable commute experience, but can also lead to accidents. It is crucial for the university administration to address the issue promptly. Improved transportation facilities are essential to ensure that students travel safely and arrive at the campus ready to learn.
