PESHAWAR: The district administration on Wednesday sealed 14 plazas for misusing their parking lots for commercial purposes. A statement issued here said that the administration launched the crackdown on misuse of parking spaces under the chief minister’s ‘Awami Agenda’. It said that the district administration and capital metropolitan government officials visited several plazas located on the Ashraf Road, Lady Reading Hospital Road and Warsak Road, and inspected their parking spaces. Fourteen commercial buildings were sealed for misusing their parking spaces for commercial purposes or illegal constructions. The statement quoted Peshawar deputy commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram as saying that they were working round the clock to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city. He said that they were taking actions against those commercial buildings and plazas which were using their parking spaces for other purposes. He said that the district administration officials had been directed to visit all the buildings all over the city and take legal action against those misusing the parking spaces.
