LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday extended physical remand of former senator Waqar Ahmad Khan for three days in a billions of rupees scam of Pak Arab Housing Society. A NAB team presented Waqar before the court on expiry of his one-day remand. A prosecutor requested the court for further physical remand of the former senator, saying the suspect sought time to hand over his property to the NAB. Judge Nadeem Gulzar allowed the NAB request and extended the physical remand of the suspect for three days. The NAB alleged that Waqar along with his brother, Ammar Ahmed Khan, committed fraud worth billions of rupees with people by denying them plots despite receiving money. It said the society defrauded the public at large by selling files more than the available plots. It stated that Pak-Arab Society Phase-Il was also not an approved project by the Lahore Development Authority. The bureau said there were hundreds of victims associated with the Pak Arab Housing Society scam.
