CM orders effective implementation of ‘Awami Agenda’

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Friday directed the divisional commissioners to hold at least one khuli kutchery in each district every month to ascertain public issues and get them addressed. He issued the directives while chairing a meeting held here on Friday to review the progress on his 99-point ‘Awami Agenda’. CM’s principal secretary Mohammad Abid Majeed and other relevant officials were in attendance, according to a statement issued here. Mr Gandapur emphasised that the Awami Agenda was aimed at improving public service delivery at the grassroots level and ensure good governance, and stressed that the initiative would be implemented effectively. “Any negligence in this regard won’t be tolerated.” He also directed the deputy commissioners to call khuli kutcherys twice a month and the assistant commissioners to do so once a month in their respective tehsils. Commissioners asked to hold khuli kutchery every month He also directed the authorities concerned to complete the mapping of all patwar (revenue) offices within 15 days and submit a report. He said patwar offices established out of the areas of their jurisdictions should be shifted to their respective areas immediately. The meeting was informed that under the chief minister’s ‘open-door’ policy, 429 khuli kutcherys had so far been held across the province, including 27 for women, 17 for minority communities, 14 for farmers, 18 for differently-abled persons, and 11 for traders. Besides, 431 educational institutions, 843 public toilets, 590 canals, 1,066 roads, 287 recreational spots and 298 bus stations have been cleaned across the province. Garbage dumped on 7,267 vacant plots has also been removed. So far, 1,195 blocked drains have been opened, 439 sewerage lines cleaned, and 101 repaired. Relevant officials informed the meeting 368 illegal dumping sites had been removed, and 226 designated dumping sites had been notified for waste disposal. Besides, over 4,300 trash bins have been installed at various points across the province. Over 110 public parks have been given access to clean drinking water, and benches have been installed in 169 others. Similarly, restrooms have been provided in 42 sports grounds and lighting has been restored in 72 others. Moreover, over 4,000 advertisement boards and banners have been removed from poles, and 4,500 pieces of advertising material taken down from walls.
