5 militants killed after attack on Miramshah checkpost

MIRAMSHAH: Five militants, including a key commander of banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, were killed and two security personnel were injured during a clash here in North Waziristan tribal district on Sunday, sources said. They added that a group of militants attacked a security checkpost in Tapi village on Sunday morning with small and large weapons from an unknown location. As a result of the attack, two security personnel, identified as Lance Naik Nabi Khan and Naik Munir Khan, suffered injuries. The injured personnel were shifted to Miramshah Hospital. The security forces also launched a full-scale counter-attack, killing five militants, including a key TTP commander, identified as Aminullah alias Istiqlal. The security forces also cordoned off the area and started a search operation. No official statement was issued by the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, till the filing of this report on Sunday evening. Meanwhile, two people belonging to the Zoi Saidgi area of Dattakhel, Miranshah, were slaughtered by suspected militants on charges of spying for the security forces in the Azizkhel area. The bodies were later thrown on the roadside. The police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to Miranshah Hospital.
