Thousands attend JI leader’s funeral

BAJAUR: Thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of Jamaat-i-Islami’s slain leader, Mohammad Hamid Sufi, in Bajaur district on Friday. The funeral prayers were held along the Inayat Kallay Bypass in the evening. Mr Sufi, 50, was killed by unknown assailants near a mosque in his Inayat Kallay home town on Thursday evening. Besides, people from different walks of life, JI senior leaders and activists from different areas of the province, including former chief Sirajul Haq, former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and former provincial minister Inayatullah Khan were also in attendance.
