Three cops injured in Kohat police station attack

KOHAT: Three policemen were injured when miscreants hurled a hand grenade at the Mills area police station here on Thursday night. Soon after the attack, district police officer Umer Khan reached the spot and also visited the KDA Divisional Hospital to enquire after the injured policemen. He asked the medical staff to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured cops. The doctors at the hospital said that the policemen –Mohammad Siddique, Silahuddin and Allah Noor – had received pellets in their heads. The police cordoned off the area around the police station and launched a search operation. The bomb disposal squad was also called to inspect the place. The police also erected blockades around the city to hunt down the fleeing miscreants. The police registered a case against unknown militants under Section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
