ISLAMABAD: Eminent poets, intellectuals and healthcare professionals have urged Pakistan’s youth to stay in the country instead of seeking opportunities abroad, emphasising that progress and prosperity can only be achieved through struggle, hard work and dedication. Speaking at the launch ceremony of the Jahan-i-Masiha Adbi Forum (JMAF) thematic calendar for 2025 the other night, the speakers delivered messages of resilience, hope, and optimism for a brighter future of Pakistan. Addressing a gathering of doctors, poets, and intellectuals at a local hotel in Rawalpindi, renowned poet Iftikhar Arif stressed the importance of national perseverance. “Every great nation, including China, South Korea, Japan, and Germany, faced hardships and crises, yet their intellectuals never asked their youth to abandon their homeland. They promoted resilience and optimism, inspiring young people to bring change,” he said. “Let us never allow despair to dominate our spirit, for Pakistan’s future lies in the strength and resolve of its people,” he said, urging the younger generation to embrace struggle as a means to progress,” he added. Poet Inamul Haq Javed also delivered a powerful message of hope, emphasising the need for unity and determination. Mr Javed said the challenges they face were not insurmountable. “We must stand together, guided by our dreams for a better Pakistan. If our youth channel their energy into constructive efforts, no obstacle can hinder our nation’s journey towards success,” he said, urging young people to believe in their abilities to create a prosperous future. Deputy CEO of PharmEvo Syed Jamshed Ahmed highlighted the significance of the initiative, saying, “our calendars are more than just dates on a page — they are tools of inspiration, promoting values of leadership, perseverance and dedication. These qualities are essential to overcoming challenges and achieving national development.” Managing Director of PharmEvo Haroon Qasim reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering an enlightened and progressive society and said health goes beyond medicine. The event culminated in a lively Mushaira where renowned poets, including Iftikhar Arif, Anwar Masood, Inamul Haq Jawaid, Umair Najmi and Abdur Rehman Momin, recited verses reflecting themes of optimism, national pride, and determination.
