Former blind child actor Rory Callum Sykes has died at the age of 32 due to the Los Angeles wildfires. The ex-actor, widely known for the 1998 TV series , was reportedly nestled in a secluded Malibu beach cottage when it suddenly caught fire. His death was announced by his mother Shelley, who opened up to about Sykes’ untimely passing. She told the outlet, "I couldn’t put out the cinders on his roof with a hose because the water was switched off. When the fire department brought me back, his cottage was burnt to the ground. He will be incredibly missed." Desperate for help, the mother drove about a quarter of a mile in search of assistance, unable to connect to 911 due to the intense blaze. For the unversed, the actor was born with cerebral palsy, proving why he had been blind since birth. Shelley explained that her late son had "overcome so much" throughout his life, including "therapies to regain his sight and to be able to learn how to walk." On professional front, Sykes rose to fame after he first hosted the British show, which aired between 1998 and 1999.
