5 killed, 10 injured as vehicle falls into Waziristan ditch

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Five persons died and 10 others sustained injuries when a passenger vehicle fell into a deep ditch near the Saidgaye checkpost here on Friday. Residents said that the vehicle was on its way from lower Wana towards North Waziristan. They said it went out of the driver’s control near the Saidgaye checkpost in Mirali area and fell into a ditch. They also said that five persons were killed and 10 others injured. Most of the injured persons were students, who were going to take part in their examination, according to the residents. The residents said that the injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital, from where the critically wounded people were shifted to a hospital in Bannu. The residents said that the security forces reached the spot immediately after the accident and assisted the rescue authorities in retrieving the injured and the bodies from the gorge and shifting them to hospital.
