SUKKUR: Khairpur police claimed to have arrested two members of an interprovincial gang of arms dealers with a big consignment of ammunition concealed in secret chambers of their car during checking of vehicles at Ranipur toll plaza on Thursday evening. Police officials said that DSP CIA Imdad Ali Solangi along with his team started snap- checking of vehicles at the toll plaza on National Highway after receiving a tip-off and arrested Mohammad Zahid Fayyaz Jat and Mohammad Shahid Fayyaz Jat, residents of Toba Tek Singh, Punjab, along with the ammo. They said that police had impounded their car (No- AJA 029) with a large amount of cartridges worth millions of rupees. “We have lodged an FIR (No.120 /2024) under Section 23(1) a, d, e & 27(b) Sindh Arms Act,” they said.
