Revenue dept officials directed to better serve people

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Dera deputy commissioner Sara Rehman has directed the revenue department officials to ensure provision of better services to citizens. She issued the directives while speaking during a khuli kutchery held here on Tuesday. The forum was held as part of efforts to ensure better services to people under the government’s public service agenda. Additional deputy commissioner Adnan Jamil, assistant commissioner, Dera, Faseeh Ishaq Abbasi, officials of revenue department and a large number of citizens attended the forum. The participants raised several issues pertaining to the revenue department, including land transfers, Fard, registry, domicile and land record computerisation. Some of the problems were addressed on the spot while others were referred to relevant authorities for further action. Talking to the media, deputy commissioner Sarah Rehman said the administration was committed to extending relief to citizens by resolving their problems at the earliest. She said such forums were helpful in resolving land disputes and revenue officials had been directed to address the people’s problems in the shortest possible time. ARRESTS: The police have intensified crackdown on criminal and anti-social elements. An official said the police arrested an accused, Ikramullah and recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession. The police also arrested a criminal, Shan Gul, wanted in two separate murder and attempted murder cases. The police also recovered a stolen vehicle, pine nuts and other items, and were searching for the accused, Sikandar. Two people were killed in separate firing incidents on Wednesday. In the first incident, two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle shot dead a 28-year-old man standing near his corral over unknown reasons. The Gomal University police registered a murder case. The deceased was identified as Irfan. In another incident, a 25-year-old youth lost his life in a collision between a dumper truck and a rickshaw on Dera-Bannu Road near Wanda Baloch. The deceased was identified as Mujahid Khan.
