Three-day national talent contest at Larkana Cadet College ends

LARKANA: The three-day ‘All Pakistan Elite Institutions of Talent Contest’ concluded at the Larkana Cadet College, which hosted the event. A total of 24 eminent institutions from across the country participated in the grand contest. GOC 16 Division, Pannu Aqil Cantt Maj-General Shahriyar Qureshi was the chief guest. Principal of the host college retired Brig Ghulam Raza welcomed the chief guest. Speaking at the event, Maj-Gen Qureshi highlighted importance of national integration and urged the students to embrace patriotism and work towards betterment of the nation. He also stressed on responsible use of the social media, and called for its judicious utilisation to stay on a positive path. He encouraged the students to hone their analytical abilities to discern truth from falsehood which, he said, would enable them to discern the negative propaganda disseminated by adversarial forces. He pointed out that the diversity represented at the event was a powerful reflection of the country’s rich cultural mosaic, united under one flag despite its varied origins and experiences. He commended the college principal, faculty and administrative team for organising such a grand and impactful event. Later, he gave away prizes to the winners of different contests and competitive segments in declamation, essay writing, badminton, squash and Hifz-i-Iqbal. Ahmed Sultan Khoso, a former secretary of the Sindh environment department, was the chief guest of the Hifz-i-Iqbal competition.
