Art exhibition at Shakir Ali Museum

LAHORE: A three-day “Art Exhibition” was inaugurated at Shakir Ali Museum, New Garden Town, by Punjab Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Shazia Rizwan. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Punjab Council of the Arts Executive Director Muhammad Tanvir Majid and various artists. The exhibition was organised in a collaboration between the Arts and Culture Forum (ACF) and the Punjab Council of the Arts (Pucar). A total of 60 artworks by 25 artists were showcased for the public to view. On this occasion, artists such as Nadia Tufail, Ayesha, Amina Ehsan, Fatima Mushtaq and Rana Samreen Ansari were also present. The exhibition highlighted the culture of Punjab and Pakistan. Mrs Shazia Rizwan viewed the paintings on display and praised the efforts of the artists. She said the art directs the youth towards positive creative expression. Encouraging artists for the promotion of art is a responsibility we all share, she said. Mrs Rizwan said young artists were working hard to contribute to societal improvement through their work. Pucar Executive Director Muhammad Tanveer Majid mentioned that the primary goal of the exhibition was to promote art.
