KARACHI: The Sindh home department has notified a Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) to grill two suspects, said to be associated with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), held for their alleged involvement in the Chinese convoy attack case. The JIT comprising officials of police and intelligence agencies would grill suspects Muhammad Javed and Gul Nisa and submit its findings within 15 days. The DIG of the Counter-Terrorism Department will head the eight-member JIT also comprising senior officials of three intelligence agencies. Last month, three persons were killed in a suicide attack that targeted a convoy of Chinese nationals near Karachi airport. Investigators had arrested suspect Javed, who allegedly conducted reconnaissance at the scene while the female suspect had facilitated suicide bomber Shah Fahad by helping him cross the Hub toll plaza. BLA commanders Bashir Ahmed, alias Bashir Zeb, and Abdul Rehman, alias Rehman Gul, planned the attack and they are still at large.
