LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) officials on Sunday placed banners warning public interested in buying property owned by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA). According to a company spokesman, the Lesco Niaz Baig subdivision has also sought ‘deposition’ of the bills amounting to Rs1.3 million on the part of LDA for the property scheduled to be sold through an open auction on Dec 4. “Those intending to purchase this property, situated at Shan Ali Bhatti Road, in an open auction on Dec 4 must be aware that the LDA is to clear dues of Rs1.3 million for this property to Lesco. But the LDA, despite being contacted again and again, failed to do so. Therefore, the buyers must know about the situation well, as they would be responsible if they purchase this property for which the LDA is to pay Rs1.3 million to Lesco,” reads the content of the banners. The LDA Director (Auction) was not available for comments. GAS: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) teams on Sunday disconnected 186 connections and imposed fine of Rs7 million on account of gas pilferage and other illegalities on the part of consumers. Similarly, in Faisalabad, seven connections were severed for illegal usage, and one for compressor use, with fine of Rs. 0.06 million. In Sheikhupura, the SNGPL team disconnected three illegal connections and imposed hefty fines of Rs 3.7 million. In Bahawalpur, the team disconnected one illegal connection and another 18 for compressor use. In Multan, 14 illegal connections and three compressor-related violations were addressed.
