Talking to the members and the executive committee of PVMA, newly elected chairman Umer Rehan expressed the confidence that he would utilise his experience and knowledge to resolve the problems being faced by the ghee/cooking oil industry. Mr Rehan highlighted the challenges being faced by the industry and said that high cost of ghee and edible oil was damaging the industry as well as the consumers. “Ghee and edible oil were an essential kitchen item in Pakistan, and their high cost leads to the sale and supply of spurious and low quality products that could be harmful for human health whereas the rise of adulterated ghee and oil supply chain will have a serious financial impact on the regulated industry,” he added.
