Woman gang-raped, blackmailed

MUZAFFARGARH: A woman was allegedly gang-raped and blackmailed with indecent videos in the City Kot Addu police jurisdiction. According to a complaint filed by a resident of Sirani Chowk, the suspects repeatedly raped his daughter, threatened her with explicit videos. They also allegedly extorted money by threatening to make the videos viral. The police registered a case and arrested two of the suspects. The first information report (FIR) stated that three named suspects along with two unidentified persons committed multiple acts of sexual assault with the alleged rape survivor and shared the videos with others. A case was registered under sections 375, 385, and the Prevention of Electronic Crime Act 21 at the Kot Addu police station. The complainant stated that his daughter remains under threat from the accused. The Chobara police in Layyah arrested three brothers involved in an honour killing within hours of the incident. Suspects Aamir, Adnan and Zeeshan, attacked the home of Muhammad Iqbal, suspecting that his son had a relationship with their sister. The attackers, armed with a Kalashnikov, fired indiscriminately, killing Iqbal on the spot and seriously injuring Mehwish Bibi and Faizan. A team formed by DPO Muhammad Ali Waseem arrested the suspects.
