KARACHI: Sardar Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, President of the Azad Kashmir Government warned the United Nations in Karachi yesterday [Nov 20] that “lack of firmness in dealing with Indian imperialism” in Kashmir might result in “very grave consequences”. Prior to his departure by air early yesterday morning for London en route to New York, [he] told the APP that India’s occupation of Kashmir was “an act of brutal aggression”, and “the sooner this is realised by the United Nations the better”. He said that he was going to the United States to enlighten public opinion on the Kashmir issue and to explain the stand of Azad Kashmir. He will be at Lake Success when the Security Council takes up consideration of the UNCIP’s report, which according to present indications, will be during the first week of December. The Azad Kashmir President declared that if India persisted in obstructing a fair and impartial plebiscite in Kashmir, “we shall have no option but to intensify our liberation movement”. “There is no other solution of the problem of Kashmir except this peaceful method,” he reminded India.
