HEC body reviews IUB psychology curriculum

BAHAWALPUR: The Higher Education Commission’s national curriculum review committee at its two-day meeting, chaired by Director-General Curriculum Dr Amjad Hussain, at the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) accomplished the task of developing the curriculum of BS and MS in Psychology. According to a press release issued on its concluding day, the committee said that it revised the curricula for BS and MS Psychology programmes, aligning the curriculum with indigenous needs, international standards and HEC policies. The panel of experts and renowned academicians from various universities across Pakistan including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Balochistan participated in the meeting. The press release said the participants remained engaged in detailed deliberations to refine the eligibility criteria, program learning outcomes, scheme of studies, and course learning outcomes for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Meanwhile, Nimra Mahmood, the president of IUB Character Building Society, was given the Youth Icon Award 2024 during a ceremony at the Youth Parliament Summit at the e-Library, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The Youth Icon Award was given in recognition of her tireless efforts for youth empowerment, social service and sustainable development. Nimra took practical steps in the last three years to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). : Multan Regional Police Officer (RPO) retired Capt Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry reinstated all the removed 16 personnel of Lodhran district. According to reports, 16 police officials, including a sub-inspector, had refused to perform their duties during the PTI’s rally in Islamabad in October. DPO Lodhran Kamran Mumtaz had suspended them from service and they were later removed from service by their competent authority. The suspended police personnel had filed their appeals, which had now been accepted.
