HARIPUR: The University of Haripur’s human resource development cell (HRDC), in partnership with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), inaugurated a transformative national outreach programme for faculty development the other day. The one-month training initiative, running until 16th December, aims to equip faculty members with the skills and expertise needed to become Trainers of Trainers (TOT), enabling them to serve as expert educators and professional trainers across Pakistan. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shafiqur Rahman, in his welcome address, emphasised the significance of such programmes in raising the standards of higher education in the country. He highlighted the varsity’s commitment to innovation and academic development, expressing gratitude to NAHE for selecting the university as a host for such an impactful initiative. He also praised the collaborative efforts of the faculty members and leadership in making this programme a reality and stressed the long-term benefits it would have for the academic community. The guest speakers marked the faculty development initiative as a significant step in empowering educators with the skills and expertise they needed to excel as trainers. “By enhancing the professional landscape of higher education in Pakistan, it promises to create a ripple effect of knowledge and skill-sharing across institutions, leaving a lasting impact on the academic ecosystem,” said one of the speakers. The opening ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries including Prof Dr Fida Younas Khattak, former vice chancellor and dean, Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST), Prof Dr Zeeshan Zeb Khattak from KUST, Ghulam Murtaza Gorya, Assistant Director, NAHE and others.
