DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Six policemen and a passerby were injured when terrorists attacked a police post in the Gul Imam area of Tank district on Monday. According to a statement issued by the police, the attackers used both small and big firearms during the assault on the police post. Rescue 1122 teams swiftly transported the injured policemen to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tank for initial medical care. Later, they were shifted to the DHQ Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. Hospital sources confirmed that all the injured policemen and the passerby were in stable condition. Law enforcement agencies responded promptly to the incident. A joint team of police and security forces was dispatched to the site to initiate an investigation. The authorities cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the culprits. Tank district police officer Aslam Nawaz Khan visited the Gul Imam police post and appreciated the personnel for their swift response in repelling the assault. He issued directives to enhance security protocols, emphasising the mandatory use of bulletproof jackets and helmets. He also urged officers to remain vigilant, avoid distractions such as use of mobile phones while on duty, and actively monitor for suspicious activities.
