PESHAWAR: Shante Moore, US Consul General in Peshawar, recognised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s difficulties on Saturday and emphasised the advantages of a powerful and stable Pakistan for all parties. In the provincial capital, Mr Moore met with Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, Advisor to KP CM on Information and Public Relations, and stated that “a prosperous Pakistan is in the interest of the United States and the entire region.” In a statement released today, he reiterated his government’s commitment to helping KP meet its development objectives. Mr Saif informed the US consul general during the meeting that KP citizens had paid a high price for the province’s stability and that without long-term peace; the province’s economic development would remain a distant dream. The CM advisor underlined the sacrifices made by the people of KP in their continuous attempts to bring about peace in the province and called on the US to take a more active part in promoting regional peace over the long run. According to the statement, both sides acknowledged the necessity of working together to advance economic development, healthcare, and promote education. The two talked on a wide variety of topics, including regional stability and economic development, and reaffirmed their dedication to a common goal of a safe and prosperous KP, the statement added.
