GUJRAT: A man in connivance with his father-in-law shot dead his two sisters after they refused to be married to the men of his choice at village Jendar Sharif near Karianwala. Reports said the suspect, Hussain, son of Zulfiqar Ahmed, along with his father-in-law Yahya entered the room of his sisters Umme Kalsoom (38) and Umme Saba (30) when they were sleeping on Thursday night and opened fire at them. Resultantly, both the girls died on the spot and the suspects fled the scene. Police shifted the bodies to the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital and collected the evidence from the crime scene. Police registered a case against the suspects on the report of Zulfiqar Ahmed. Initial police investigation revealed that the suspect wanted to marry his sisters to the men of his choice and he and his father-in-law had also been forcing them to accept their choice, which was not acceptable to the deceased women. The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) recovered 1,600kg dead chicken from a vehicle near Gilanwala Chowk of Gujrat. Reports said the PFA team had set up a picket on the outskirts of the city where it found dead chicken packed into the sacks on a vehicle. A veterinary doctor of the livestock department also examined the dead chicken and declared it dangerous for human consumption. The PFA team disposed of the dead chicken in an open area. Saddar Gujrat police registered a case against the suspect, Muhammad Boota of Daska who was the driver of the vehicle. The driver and vehicle were handed over to the police.
