KARACHI: Pakistan will have its new parliament elected under the new constitution in 1952. The constitution, according to the present schedule, will be ready for enforcement by the middle of 1951, it is authoritatively learnt. The Fundamental Rights and Minorities Committee of the Pakistan Constituent Assembly appointed in August 1947, it is understood, will meet in Karachi in the third week of December to finalise the report. The Basic Principles Committee appointed on Jan 12, 1949, will take a longer time to finalise its deliberations and is scheduled to submit its report to the Constituent Assembly by the middle of 1959, according to reliable sources. As soon as the Committee have submitted their reports the Constituent Assembly will be summoned to discuss and adopt them after necessary amendments and alterations. The Assembly will then appoint a Drafting Committee to prepare and submit the Draft Constitution. Steps are being taken to fill up the 11 vacant seats in the Constituent Assembly immediately in view of the heavy task lying ahead of actual constitution making.
