LAKKI MARWAT: District administration launched an anti-encroachment operation in Ghoriwala town of Bannu district on Friday. Under the leadership of Additional Assistant Commissioner Shakil Khattak, a district official said that unlawfully constructed structures were taken down from the sides of the roads and from crowded bazaars by municipal personnel with the help of local police. The bazaars and commercial districts were free of both temporary and permanent encroachments, he claimed. Meanwhile, landowners and farmers requested that the district administration should guarantee a continuous supply of electricity to the service delivery centre in order to expedite the resolution of their issues. They were speaking during a khuli kutcheri which was held by Abdul Hameed Khan, Deputy Commissioner. After hearing farmers’ concerns, the DC promised a prompt resolution. He declared his administration’s unwavering commitment to solving people’s problems locally. Meanwhile, under the higher secondary and high school sports competition, a number of district-level game events came to an end.
