Woman devotee gang-raped outside shrine

TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman was allegedly gang raped outside a shrine located in Jakhar town of Kamalia tehsil late on Sunday night. The complainant, K, a resident of B Block, Pirmahal, stated in the FIR registered under section 375-A of the PPC at Bhussi police station, that she had gone to attend the Urs at the shrine of Nadir Shah Kirmani. She said on Sunday night she fell asleep outside the shrine where a vendor, ‘A’, of Kassowal, offered her to sleep in a room. She said when she went inside the room, the vendor and his two accomplices (both nominated) overpowered her and two of them raped her in turns, while the third stood there as guard. The police claimed that two of the suspects had been arrested and raids were under way to nab their accomplice. A man allegedly died by suicide by cutting his veins at Chak 198-RB, Munnianwali, Faisalabad, on Monday. As per Rescue 1122 officials, they were informed that Farhat Mahmood (65) had cut his veinsnear his elbow, and died due to blood loss. Local sources say Farhat took the extreme step allegedly after a quarrel with his family members over a monetary issue.
