SAHIWAL: The owner of a losing dog (in a dog fight contest) was critically injured by the winning dog when he attempted to rescue his pet in village Raree Malaykka, Pakpattan, on Saturday. It happened when Waseem, 20, intervened to free his dog from the winner’s jaws. Despite winning the fight, the victorious dog refused to spare Waseem’s dog. As Waseem tried to pull the dogs apart withe the help of referee, the winning canine attacked him, leaving him critically injured. Over two dozen dogs took part in the banned sport. Hosts cancelled the contest midway and disappeared before the arrival of police. Rescue 1122 shifted Waseem to the Pakpattan DHQ Hospital. Police said they were searching for the hosts.
