SINGAPORE: Chaudhri Nazir Ahmad Khan, Pakistan Minister for Industries, said here today [Jan 1] that Pakistan would like to develop more industrial and economic contacts with Malaya in such industries as tin mining, rubber, oil and tea. Speaking personally, he added, he would like to see a Pakistan Trade Commissioner functioning in Malaya. Chaudhri Nazir Ahmad Khan, who [was present] … at the transfer of power ceremonies in Indonesia, was passing through Singapore on his way home. … In a speech at a Muslim meeting here … [he] said, Pakistan’s aim was to serve the cause of world peace and prosperity and especially the economic regeneration of the Muslim countries. … [Meanwhile,] Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan accompanied by Begum Liaquat Ali and a large party … left on Sunday … [Jan 1] by special train for Larkana en route to Mohen-jo-Daro, historic city of ancient Sind. … The town is agog with activity, with officials and citizens doing everything possible to accord a befitting welcome to the Prime Minister. …
