Attock admin’s ‘digital learn and earn’ programme lauded

TAXILA: Renowned philanthropist and Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Dr Amjad Saqib has lauded the Attock administration’s initiative ‘digital learn and earn’ programme, which is aimed at equipping students and woman entrepreneurs with digital skills and e-learning. He expressed these views after attending a briefing presented to him by officials in connection with various welfare oriented programmes, especially addressing poverty, illiteracy and equipping youth with digital skills in six different tehsils of Attock on Wednesday. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, Chief Executive District Health Authority Dr Asad Ismail, Deputy Director Public Relations Shahzad Niaz, Regional Manager Akhuwat Foundation Syed Mehtab Raza, Dr Jawaad Ellahi, medical superintendent District Headquarters Hospital, Medical Social Welfare Officer Mohammad Zubair and other officials of the district administration, social welfare, education and health department were also present. Dr Saqib said there was no shortage of resources in the country but there was a need for proper utilisation. Commenting on the initiative of the Attock district administration, he emphasised the importance of linking children from needy families to technical skill areas, providing them with avenues for a brighter future. He was of the view that uniformity between what one says and what one acts is a must to create true leadership skills among individuals. On this occasion, he announced that freelancing, AI, graphic designing and other courses will be provided to 25 IT students from across the district without cost. Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza said the ‘Learn and Earn IT programme’ had a revolutionary status in the history of Attock district, enabling students across the district to pursue economic self-sufficiency through freelancing, graphic design, and other related courses. Mr Raza said more than 50 IT labs of government schools in Attock district had been upgraded at a cost of around Rs250 million, which is a unique initiative in the history of the district.
