Thieves make away with Rs10m

SUKKUR: Thieves sneaked into a big shop in Talpur Colony within the limits of B-Section police station in Khairpur district last night and made away with Rs10 million cash after breaking open the cash locker. Sarfaraz Maitlo, owner of the shop selling confectionary and other products at wholesale rate, said that his salesmen brought cash from different areas in the district, which mounted to Rs10 million. He had to keep the money at the shop as banks were closed for two days on account of Iqbal Day and Sunday, he said. He lashed out at district police for their failure to control crime in Khairpur district and said that citizens, especially business community, had been left the mercy of robbers and outlaws. Meanwhile, police along with technical teams inspected crime scene at the shop and started collecting fingerprints. Police had started investigation from different angles.
