MOHMAND: Mohmand Political Alliance, an umbrella organisation of civil society and political parties, held a sit-in in Ekkaghund area here on Mondayagainst the prolonged delay in the completion of work on the Peshawar-Mohmand highway. They said that the government collected millions of rupees per month in taxes from mineral deposits of Mohmand district, but the roads in the region were lying in a bad shape. The Mohmand Political Alliance includes JUI-F, ANP, Jamaat-i-Islami, Qaumi Watan Party, Haq Do Tehreek, PTM, PPP, Mohmand Welfare Organisation and social activists. The alliance’s president, Jangraiz Khan Mohmand, JUI-F district emir Maulana Arif Haqqani, JI emir Mohammad Saeed Khan, ANP president Malik Saifullah, Mohmand Welfare Organisation president Mir Afzal Mohmand, PTM leader Razzaq Safi, Ayaz Qari and QWP leader Malik Mustafa and others addressed the protesters.
