In its continued pursuit for improvement, WhatsApp is now planning to roll out an exciting new update significantly improve the Updates tab interface for users, simplifying the creation of status and channel updates. The new update brings quick shortcuts to Meta's popular instant-messaging app that make the process of updating statuses and channels more streamlined. But how? With the help of the new shortcuts, users will be able to select and upload photos and videos directly from the interface. This significantly reduces the time and effort required to access these sharing options, making it even more convenient for users to create updates for both status and channels, reported. In addition to this, WhatsApp is also set to introduce a revamped button for creating text-based status updates as well as an option for recording and sharing voice status updates. This eliminates users' reliance on the floating action button. Both of these options are integrated into a modernised interface that aligns visually with recent updates made to other tabs, making it easier for users to navigate and create updates seamlessly. WhatsApp is also tweaking the floating action button within the Updates tab to allow users to share content within channels. Upon selecting the floating action button, users will see several options, including options to create status updates, start new channels, or share photos, videos, voice, and text in their existing channels, provided they have already created one. This redesign consolidates all options for creating status updates and channel content into a single and unified section. Although the new shortcuts are set to be rolled out to more people over the coming weeks, beta testers can currently explore them in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.26.13 update, which is available on the Google Play Store.
