PEF distributes stationery among students

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) on Tuesday distributed school bags and other stationery items among students of mobile schools in Cholistan. An event was organised for children studying in Cholistan Mobile Schools in Toba Kotanewala Tehsil Yazman, Bahawalpur district. PEF Chairperson Malik Shoaib Awan and Managing Director Shahid Farid, Multan Regional Director Mazhar Abbas Khan, Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) focal person education Imtiaz Hussain Lashari and others were also present. A many as 2,680 students from 76 mobile schools were provided free stationery items. The items distributed included school bags, copies (Urdu, Math, English), lead pencils, erasers, sharpeners, drawing books, colour pencils, and geometry boxes. The PEF chairperson and the MD announced that all mobile schools affiliated with the Cholistan programme would be upgraded from primary to elementary level. They said Cholistan Mobile School Bijnot would be upgraded from primary to high level and free stationery would also be distributed among students in community schools of Cholistan mobile schools next year. They said the mobile schooling project was unique compared to other initiatives of the foundation and it was bringing education closer to the homes of Cholistan children.
