Bajaur students get schoolbags, uniform

BAJAUR: Representatives of a welfare organisation on Saturday distributed shoes, uniform, schoolbags bags, books and cash among 32 poor students. The items were distributed during an event held at a school in Laghari area of Mamond tehsil. Speakers on the occasion asked the parents to play their due role in making their children useful citizens of the society. The event was titled ‘the role of parents in making their children educated, civilised and useful citizen of society’. Scores of students and teachers of various schools attended the event organised by the school’s management in collaboration with Mamond welfare organisation. Elders, religious figures, parents and youth were also in attendance. The speakers, including Haji Toor Gul, chairman of Mamond welfare organisation, Nasirullah Hashmi, Azad Bakht, Mursaleen Khan and Nabi Jan, said that parents wished their children to become educated, civilised and useful citizens of the society, but they did not wholeheartedly played their role in turning their dreams into reality. The speakers observed that besides the teachers, parents had a great role and responsibility to make their children truly educated, civilised and useful citizens of society. The speakers asked the parents to keep close contact with the teachers by visiting schools once a month to stay informed about their children’s performance.
