PRCS chairman meets Azeri counterpart

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari held a meeting with President of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Dr Novruz Aslanov to discuss solution to miseries of vulnerable segments in both countries. According to a statement issued from Islamabad, the meeting was held at the National Headquarters of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society in Baku. The meeting marked the first-ever interaction between the two national societies, symbolising a significant milestone in fostering stronger ties. Chairman Laghari briefed Dr Aslanov on PRCS’ extensive humanitarian work across Pakistan, particularly the organisation’s response to the devastating monsoon floods of 2022. He highlighted the ongoing recovery programmes, which include shelter provision, livelihood support, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services, and cash assistance for flood-affected families. President Dr Novruz Aslanov reaffirmed the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society’s strong commitment to humanitarian causes and emphasised the importance of enhanced collaboration between the two national societies.
