Minister regrets death of policeman in clashes

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tributes to police constable Mubashir who martyred in clashes with PTI protesters at Hakla Interchange and expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of the policeman. “Our deepest sympathies are with the family of the martyred police constable Mubashir and we share the grief of the family,” Mr Naqvi said. Constable Mubashir was injured at Hakla Interchange where he was deployed for security duty. He suffered serious head injuries while performing his duty and was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital where he died. The minister expressed his deep sorrow and regret over the martyrdom of Constable Mubashir due to the violence of protesters. “The martyr attained the high status of martyrdom while performing his duty,” Mr Naqvi added. The protesters who resorted to violence and responsible elements will be brought to justice, he added. Mubashir was 46 years old and had three children, including two daughters, and hailed from Muzaffargarh. Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Raza visited the hospital to inquire after the injured cops. DIG Raza visited Pims and met l police officers who were injured while performing duties to ensure law and order in Islamabad. He also met with doctors to receive an update on the policemen’s health and asked them to provide better treatment and care to the injured officers. During the visit, Mr Raza emphasised the unwavering dedication of these officers, who, without hesitation, put their lives at risk to protect the lives and property of the citizens. He praised the efforts of these officers who remained constantly engaged in ensuring the safety and security of Islamabad’s residents and maintaining peace and order in the city.
