KARACHI: A jobless man reportedly suffering from some ‘mental illness’ tried to take his own life with a gun after killing his wife and wounding two passers-by in the Kalri area of Lyari late on Saturday night, said police said on Sunday. They added that Ghulam Rasool, 30, shot dead his wife Saba, 35, and wounded two passers-by Yar Mohammed, 46, and Ms Bilqees Bano, 55, and later on shot himself as well in Street-11 near Quba Masjid in Nayabad. All the injured people were taken to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi where Saba succumbed to her wounds during treatment on Sunday morning.
